From reporting to distribution logistics…

In 2020, I had the honor of spearheading the publishing of the first extra edition of The Northeast Georgian, completely in Spanish.

In over 125 years, the press ran a paper fully in Spanish. The goal was to serve and include the underserved Spanish-speaking community in the small towns of North Georgia during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemia.

Being the only Spanish-speaker team member, and Hispanic with a deep understanding of the culture, I immersed myself into doing every job that needed to get done in order to get the free publications to the hands of our community.

From reporting to copyediting, translating, and even connecting with local businesses for the proper distribution of the newspaper, those papers have a big piece of me. I worked with an incredible team who, regardless of not speaking the language, trusted me and gave their all.
